About Kathlyne Nelson

Kathlyne Nelson completed her M.Sc. and Ph.D. in physics at Dalhousie University in 2014 and 2017, respectively. Her research focused on improving the energy density, safety, and lifetime of rechargeable batteries while decreasing cost, particularly for sustainable technologies such as electric vehicles and grid energy storage. Her passion for science outreach, science policy, and effective communication led to several volunteer positions with Women in Science and Engineering, Let’s Talk Science, and Evidence for Democracy. Kathlyne currently leads technical sales and marketing for Novonix, a start-up which designs and builds advanced diagnostic tools for battery testing in order to improve batteries for renewable energy applications
