About John Woods

John has played a key role in Nova Scotia’s ‘electricity’ journey to becoming greener. He served on the 2003 Electricity Marketplace Governance Committee to create the roadmap for change that is currently being followed by Government and industry. His messages on sustainability challenges and solutions have been presented to successive Governments, national and international conferences, industry associations, students in the public school system and at the university level.

He has decades of hands-on experience in demand and supply side of electricity markets and, in the past fifteen years he has specialized in developing and managing renewable energy projects  – wind, hydro, tidal and solar.

John’s management style is one where he supports the incremental development of team members. He listens to understand, coaches, counsels, encourages and he celebrates their efforts and successes.
