Andy Chen

April 16 | 12:50-1:20PM

As an internationally recognized speaker we are delighted to welcome Andy who has delivered keynote speeches at the UN ITU Telecom World and AI for Good Global Summit, the World Computer Congress, the World CIO Forum, and the Digital Africa Conference.

Andy’s Keynote: Building A Collaborative Energy Community
Even though all of the cities in the world combine to occupy only 2% of the world’s surface, these cities house over 50% of the world’s population, consume 75% of the world’s energy and produce 80% of the world’s CO2 emissions. As a result, modern societies are now having to face unprecedented challenges with respect to energy generation and delivery infrastructure.
Different strategies to address these challenges do exist, however they not only require advances in technology and renewable energy management, but also collaboration amongst academic researchers, major corporations and investors, as well as unwavering support from all levels of government.
In his presentation, Andy Chen will share his insights and unique perspectives derived from his experience as former Chief Technology Officer for Ontario Power Generation. He will also highlight some of the work his fellow IEEE members have done around the globe in advancing research in the fields of renewable energy, smart grids, smart homes and smart cities.
